About me

My detailed introduction

I am Dr. László Sasi Szabó, surgeon, pediatric surgeon.

I started my university studies in 1993 and was awarded the Scholarship of the Hungarian Republic as a student. In 1999 I graduated summa cum laude from the Faculty of General Medicine of the University of Debrecen, and then I started working at the former 2nd Department of Surgery. I became a board certified general surgeon with excellent results in 2006, and worked as a general surgeon at the Institute of Surgery, University of Debrecen until 2013.

In 2013, the Children's Hospital of the University of Debrecen made me an offer to join the paediatric surgical team - which I still think of as the best professional decision of my life. Although I have enjoyed working with my adult patients as well, it was pediatric surgery where I felt that I had been able to fulfil my professional potential. Combining the practical knowledge I gained during the years I was working as genaral suregeon with purposeful continuous training in pediatric surgery, I am now able to help my young patients with up-to-date methods of care that meet the actual international standards.

In 2015, I became a board cetrified paediatric surgeon with excellent rating, and since 2017 I have been leading the surgical team at the University of Debrecen Children's Hospital.

In 2022, I joined the team at Prestige Private Hospital; my goal is to help the young patients together with a professional team under the best available cicumstances.

I am a happy man; because I do my job with love, I work with excellent people with whom we can heal in a friendly atmosphere and the countless positive feedback confirms again and again that I am exactly where I am supposed to be.....

In addition to general paediatric surgery, my professional interest lies primarily in minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery, which I have personally helped to promote and be widely accepted in Hungary.
